We’ll get you through the winter

1. Cleaning

  • Clean your motorcycle thoroughly to remove dirt, salt residue and other deposits that could promote rust.
  • Use a special motorcycle cleaning agent and make sure to clean ALL areas.

2. Protection

  • After cleaning, apply a preservative or special corrosion protection to metal parts.

3. Battery care

  • Remove the battery and store it in a dry, frost-free place.
  • Connect it to a charger regularly to keep it ready for use.

4. Fuel stabilisation

  • Fill the tank to prevent condensation and rust formation.

5. Relieve the tyres

  • Place the motorcycle on a mounting stand to take the load off the tyres.
  • Alternatively, you can increase the tyre pressure to avoid pressure points.

6. Changing the engine oil

  • Change the engine oil before the winter break to remove old residues that could damage the engine.

7. For water-cooled engines: Check antifreeze in the cooling system

8. Storage

  • Store your motorcycle in a dry garage.
  • Outdoor: Use a breathable motorcycle cover.

9. Chain guard

  • Clean and grease the chain to protect it from rust.

10. Regular checks during the winter break

  • Check the condition of your motorcycle every few weeks, especially the tyres, cover and battery.
